These are used primarily for cocktail garnishes. I’m sure there could be other uses, but that’d be a stretch.
Ingredients:
- Orange(s)
- Sugar
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Cut orange(s) into thin slices, removing any seeds
- Dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water, bring to a boil (boom, just made simple syrup).
- Put orange slices in, submerging them in the syrup.
- Bring to a boil, then let the whole thing simmer for about 10 mins.
- Remove orange slices and add to a rack to cool.
- Put the orange slices onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silpat.
- Bake in oven 10 mins.
- Flip and bake another 10 mins.
