I haven’t tried this one yet, but I hear it’s a favourite of Hemmingway and is supposedly good when it’s hot out. Requires lime juice and dutch gin (genever). Fill a tall glass with crushed ice. Juice a lime into it and add 4 dashes of bitters. Fill with genever.

Suffering Bastard
It’s pretty good on a hot day on the porch. Makes 1: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour bourbon and gin over the ice, add the lime juice and a couple of dashes of bitters. Top with ginger beer.
